The Man Van Brings Prostate Cancer Screening to the House of Commons
On 26 March 2025, Professor Langley and colleagues led a landmark initiative by bringing the Man Van to the House of Commons, offering on-site prostate cancer testing to Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff.
Throughout the day, the mobile clinic tested over 45 MPs, including the Speaker of the House, as well as 24 security personnel. The event was designed to raise awareness of prostate cancer and demonstrate the importance of accessible, early screening—particularly for men at higher risk.
The visit marked a significant moment in the Man Van’s ongoing mission to deliver community-based health interventions. By engaging directly with policymakers and staff, the initiative highlighted the potential of mobile diagnostics to improve outcomes and reduce barriers to care.
Professor Langley’s involvement reflects his continued commitment to advancing prostate cancer detection and promoting equitable access to screening services across the UK.
